Because sometimes I have to say it even though no one may be listening.

Some things to know about me:
I am owned by a French Bulldog, Miss Izzie, check out her blog frenchiesrule.tumblr.com.
I like to spend my time reading, travelling, swimming and going to the cinema.

French is my first language and I adore French and British stuff.

I don’t just see French gangster movies and love stories - how excited am I to see this cartoon at my French Film Festival!

Stowing away on the journey, he looks for opportunities to escape with her. Their travels take them to Alexandria, Marseille and Paris. But the slave trader is on the same route and he is still angry about losing Maki and wants him back! Ages 7+. In French with English subtitles.

This film is a huge hit in France.  I am predicting it will be this year’s Diving Bell and the Butterfly.  The true story of a top French executive who becomes paralyzed after a sky-diving accident and “learns” to be a human being through his immigrant nurse.
I know it has all the earmarks of touchy feely.  But I adore Francois Cluzet and can’t wait to see this on March 1 when it opens my favorite film festival in New York City.

I cannot wait to see this film, Sarah’s Key, starring Kristin Scott-Thomas.  I put off reading the book for so long, because I knew it would make me cry.

Currently watching.  I have kind of a crush on Hugh Bonneville.  It may be because I spend so much time with him at work.

Two weeks ago I went to Los Angeles to see some French films at the Los Angeles French Film Festival.  This film was lots of fun to watch and was one of my favorites.
Heartbreaker is a French romantic comedy about a trio that break-up couples for a living.  They’re experts in their field and they have just two rules: Never split a truly healthy couple and never fall in love.  This is especially true for Alex (Romain Duris), who holds his own heart in a steel chamber never to be penetrated.  His tears, when they fall, are on cue and for sealing the deal.
Wait, life gets complicated when he gets the assignment of breaking up Juliette (Vanessa Paradis) and her handsome British boyfriend (Andrew Lincoln from Love Actually). His own heart gets all mixed up in the breaking and he realizes that sometimes his own rules just might need to be broken.
The scenery is divine and since it is set in Monaco, it can be very glitzy, but you will laugh a lot and maybe even shed a tear. The other thing I have to say is Dirty Dancing makes a wonderful appearance in the film.

The French have made a film based on the book Elegance of a Hedgehog. If all goes well I’ll be seeing it in March.

Coco Avant Chanel - This is the trailer for the new French film starring Audrey Tatou as Coco Chanel.  It looks really good and hope it comes to the US soon.  I just saw the Director, Anne Fontaine, in New York at a screening of her film The Girl From Monaco - which I did not like. I have not been a fan of her earlier films and said I am giving up on her as a Director but after seeing this I will soon be eating my words.
