Because sometimes I have to say it even though no one may be listening.
Some things to know about me:
I am owned by a French Bulldog, Miss Izzie, check out her blog frenchiesrule.tumblr.com.
I like to spend my time reading, travelling, swimming and going to the cinema.
French is my first language and I adore French and British stuff.
Catching Elephant is a theme by Andy Taylor
Why is this day not over yet?
Let’s take a breath and look at an adorable baby elephant.
Two greats come together.
A picture of health and happiness; the Nairobi orphans forming their own little herd in the bush.
How different it would have been for these elephants without the intervention of rescuers on the ground, The DSWT and those people who donate to support elephants and our efforts - thank you all so much. Just look at some of the lives you are helping us to save!
Elephants! Elephants!
Taken by Jaina at the Pinnawala Elephant Sanctuary in Sri Lanka.
I want to go to there so badly!
MM maybe not?
Your main duties will be:
Mucking out the elephant enclosures in the morning (this is hard, muddy work!)
Participating in bathing some of the smaller elephants.
While the mahouts are bathing the larger elephants, you will be able to relax by the river, chat to the mahouts and watch the elephants play and interact with humans and each other. This is an absolutely beautiful sight and being around these serene animals in such a beautiful setting can have a very calming effect!
You’ll also have up to two (ONLY TWO) opportunities per week to feed the beautiful baby elephants

I think I just found my next vacation.
Towards the end of the year an elephant family led by iconic matriarch “Wonky Tusk” walks through the reception of Mfuwe Lodge in Zambia’s South Luangwa National Park to feed on the fruits of a massive Wild Mango tree that grows in the lodge grounds. Normally spending up to an hour feeding on the fruits that have fallen to the ground, they may come back several times during day to catch the next harvest.
On this particular day last December they spent 4.5 hours around the
tree first hoovering up all the green fruits and pips left over by the
baboons and then, maybe worn out from all the activity, simply lay down
to sleep with Wonky and another female watching over them.
Thoughtful moment a little earlier today between Head Keeper Edwin and Mutara.
If I ever had a nice country estate in England or France - this would be my first order of business.

My babies I miss them so!
@reallykatie - this is the elephant orphanage in Kenya where I adopted baby elephants and part of the perk of being a “mommy” is if you are in the neighborhood you can come at night and put your babies to bed. It was one of the best experiences of my life and I only wish I could do it every night.
