Because sometimes I have to say it even though no one may be listening.

Some things to know about me:
I am owned by a French Bulldog, Miss Izzie, check out her blog frenchiesrule.tumblr.com.
I like to spend my time reading, travelling, swimming and going to the cinema.

French is my first language and I adore French and British stuff.

Thoughtful moment a little earlier today between Head Keeper Edwin and Mutara.

My beautiful elephant, Olare, has graduated from the nursery and is now on her way to Ithumba to start her transition to being a wild and free elephant.  I am so happy for her, but a little sad that even if I could fly to Kenya tomorrow - I will never put her to bed again.
That is her in the front with Kandecha and Kibo on her way to her new home.
Wishing these three a safe and worry free journey!

Olare is very much enjoying being the new matriarch of the Nursery Group, since the departure of Suguta to Ithumba. She feeds closely to Sities and looks after her as though she were her own calf. She even holds down branches so that Sities can feed on new lush green too high for her to otherwise reach.
This is the elephant I adopted and after moving three orphans last week to the transition center, she is now the oldest “baby” and doing a beautiful job looking after the younger ones.  It is hard to believe I was hugging that girl about 6 weeks ago, I am so proud of my elephant!
