Because sometimes I have to say it even though no one may be listening.

Some things to know about me:
I am owned by a French Bulldog, Miss Izzie, check out her blog frenchiesrule.tumblr.com.
I like to spend my time reading, travelling, swimming and going to the cinema.

French is my first language and I adore French and British stuff.

I feel I need to see this because of the Oscar thing, but I just know I am not going to like it.  I have not met anyone who has really liked this film.
tinsely:

Every year, I set a goal of seeing all the Best Picture nominees before the Oscars. I swear, this year, I’m really gonna do it. War Horse may kill me, and I’m fairly certain I’m gonna get antsy watching Tree of Life, but I’m giving it the old college try.
I watched The Descendants last night. Verdict: Meh.
The good:
-The scenery
-The music
-Shailene Woodley
-The brief use of Matthew Lillard & Judy Greer
-The family history story line
The bad:
-Clooney.  Seriously, did I miss something?  He’s supposed to be a native Hawaiian, yet he has no trace of an accent.  The Hawaiian accent is so distinct.  It would be like filming The Help with no southern drawl.  On top of that, I wasn’t particularly moved by his performance. Dare I say, it felt like he phoned it in a bit?
-The random friend of the daughter.  Still not sure what he was there for.
-The entire plot start to finish.  I don’t mind a dark storyline, but dear god, what a downer.
-The ending.  Penguins and ice cream and credits. Yikes.

This film is a huge hit in France.  I am predicting it will be this year’s Diving Bell and the Butterfly.  The true story of a top French executive who becomes paralyzed after a sky-diving accident and “learns” to be a human being through his immigrant nurse.
I know it has all the earmarks of touchy feely.  But I adore Francois Cluzet and can’t wait to see this on March 1 when it opens my favorite film festival in New York City.

sorry for this blatant bad word - but I was planning on buying tickets to see Florence and the Machine in May at Radio City and take my nieces.
Everything that could go wrong did. They changed the selling time to 9. I left for work a half hour early so I could be ready at my desk and relaxed.  But mother nature had other ideas - a big storm, power outages, floods, traffic and ass-ole drivers made me arrive at work 92 minutes later.  Then a power truck was blocking the garage and the elevator stopped at every floor.
But seriously Florence, no DC, no Philadelphia and Radio City you knew it would sell out in 2 minutes!
